This Land is Your Land
This Land
is My Land
While the
property holdings
of the Del Monte Forest Foundation do not stretch as far as
those in the folk song, they are extensive within the boundaries of
the Del Monte Forest. We encourage all who love this beautiful area we call home consider
the Del Monte Forest Foundation in their estate planning. The Del Monte Forest
Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is designated by
Monterey County and the California Coastal Commission to be the
recipient of open space, scenic easements, and fee interests in
the Del Monte Forest, as laid out in the Del Monte Forest Land Use
Plan. As a result of these agreements, the Del Monte Forest
Foundation is second only to the Pebble Beach Company in the
amount of land it controls. The Foundation currently administers
about 700 acres, or approximately 14% of the land in the Forest.
If the Pebble Beach Company’s building plan goes through,
approximately 400 additional acres will be dedicated to the
Foundation, increasing our property to approximately 21% of the
total Forest area.
In addition to land dedication through governmental agencies, the
Foundation also accepts gifts,
contributions and
bequests of land and
monetary instruments that are intended to maintain and expand the open
space and greenbelt within the Forest. |

interested in preserving the open space within Del Monte Forest.
